RE: Telephone Extn wiring & ADSL

Did you have a new DSL faceplate fitted to the Network termination point.

If so, it will have an internal filter which will stop the ADSL signal
reaching any other socket.

If you have a wires only install then it could be something else :-)

Subject: [ukha_d] Telephone Extn wiring & ADSL

Any telephone wiring gurus out there ??

I got my DSL line activated yesterday and have a strange problem in that
the router won't synchronize with the line from ANY socket....except the
one *INTERNAL* to the BT Master socket (i.e. not even the external BT
Master socket) - which I suspect points me at some dodgy secondary
socket wiring (though standard telephones have been working fine for 18
months)

I've taken a quick look at Keith's guide
(http://www.btinternet.com/~diyha/telephones/pots.html)
this morning -
and I've got some ideas that maybe someone could confirm.

Does anyone have any knowledge in this area ? Feel free to email me
direct if this is UKHA in-appropriate.

Thanks,
Robert
