RE: Re: Displays round the house.

A.,

Cost is still likely to be "dedicated PC + =A3100ish per output".=

However, the economics are changing - prices for VFDs are getting much lowe= r - and we may find that in 12 months time, it is closer to =A350 per outpu= t, and in 24 months time close to =A320.

At this stage, I'm looking for as many creative ideas on what we might use = it for as possible...

... to early to want to get stuck into HOW. Let's get WHAT settled :-)

Please DON'T feel that you're pushing us down directions that we don't want= to go in. The more options we have the better. Inevitably, the FIRST sets = of developments will be those that meet the requirements of the developers.= Hopefully, however, we can build an open architecture that will meet other= people's requirements down the road with a simple "plugin".

Regards,

Mark

One useful one might be to interpret certain X10 signals, such as

Would probably need HV or a PC tho & some sort of sytem t remember
what you do & don't care about.

Digiguide alert might be good too.

For some apps a small tabletop (or mantle piece/hifi top) display
might be better than a wall mount.

Doubt it makes much difference at this stage, but better to ask
early ;-).

Way to early for anyhting concrete I know but any idea on a hoped for
price to the nearest =A350? or even sub 100 sub 20 etc? Would help me &=
possibly others in deciding if it would suit our needs & hence not
push the project down roads that would be a waste of your time if we
couldn't afford the end product (I know I'd want one coz I'm a gadget
freak, sadly a skint one at mo)

Good luck with it.

A.
