RE: just to say hello!

Welcome Simon,

Automatic Gates : Around =A3500 for DIY ones. See an earlier thread this month on it.
Comfort: Have it, love it. Simple as that. I have a fairly simple set
up. CPU, 1 keypad and 5 PIRs. It cost around =A3450 I think, but I
installed it myself. Depends on what you want but I recently went for
UCM to integrate with HomeSeer (using Patrick Lidstones excellent
plugin!). Well worth it.
Break it down into areas, HA (lights etc), Home Cinema & CCTV Distro, Home Networking.

I had to have my house rewired so I went with all the lights using
LD11s. Works a treat. For Home Networking I installed CAT5 to all the
rooms - I have only used a PC in one other room. I only have one TV (but may be allowed to keep the bargain JVC !!) so did not go overboard on
the Co-Ax either.

It depends on what you want to spend, because you can spend it all!!

Good luck :-)

Michael
