RE: CCTV - Planning

I use a pc card with tv out for my cctv setup..

Ati cards do a good job on this with a little 'free' tweaking. Rage3d
cards that sell around =A330 can output NEARLY fullscreen. (maybe 1cm
border top bottom on my 32" 4:3 set). Good quality picture. This would=
mean running the security software onscreen all the time though.

That card can detect what is plugged into it and run with just the tv
out.

Nvidia cards tend to have fairly bad tv out, and need tvtool to be
usefull which you pay for.. IMHO the tv out is a bit ropey.

Matrox cards with custom made scart rgb outs give the best picture I've
seen, probably because the connection is rgb. (Haven't played with ati
radeon cards though) but that gives you the problem of distribution of
rgb, but the bundled svideo is very good. Better than the cheap ati
rage, but not sure about radeons..
