RE: Sunday HA Session

LAME does, as you say, come with EAC.

The "reference settings" is a quite long command string that you pass to LAME to set a whole bunch of parameters. LAME is a complex beast.

This string came about as a result of quite a bit of research and testing, and is, I think, now available with a command option called something like "--mp3mix." Don't remember exactly, since I don't have my EAC box to hand.

Regards,

Mark

Variable Bit Rate. Depends on the complexity of the music how much
data is used.
Reference Settings - pass, new one on me.
LAME - the MP3 encoder. Mixed with Exact Audio Copy
(www.exactaudiocopy.de he guesses???) to extract the audio, you can
use LAME to then encode the WAV into MP3.

I went looking for EAC and got LAME along with it.

HTH?
