Tony,

What kind of bedside lamps are they, - ie. are they fitted wall lamps with
totally inacessable wiring, or are they freestanding table lamps?

If wired-in wall lights, what's the cable route inside the wall? - do they
go up into the loft, or down into the floor void? - are they solid walls or
studs?

If you can get access to the mains wire at _any_ point in or near the
bedroom, then you could put an LD11 in-line....

just a thought...
