Both Ian Bird and myself have similar systems we use 12v valves available

garden.

Check out Ian's site

http://www.mollyology.com

Or a few details on mine as well

Since I last updated my page I have replaced the manual switches with a
link into HV.  The valves are driven from HV outputs (via a relay board)
and the switches now go to inputs on HV to override the fully automated
watering.  I am planning to link up a rain bucket this coming weekend to
control the amount of water dependant on rainfall.
