      Sounds great, Ian!
Simple is good! On off & status would do me.

The only thing I know about RS485 is how to spell it :-) Would I need to buy an
      RS232 to RS485 converter?

The thing I like about the SOM1 is that it is RS232 & 485. Additional boards
can connect to the first using the RS485 bus. Would this be doable with yours?

How about a master board wich connects to a PC with 232 and slave boards which
are RS485 (to keep the cost down)

      Amar,
I see you have taken on the HS plug-in.
I think it should be possible to add new boards (relays) to the same housecode
as the original board(s)How about making it xAP aware, so relays can
becontrolled by xAP messages on the LAN.

      Justin.
