it would only be temp to get my data.
As anyone seen this drive for sale as i am having trouble 
locating a suppiler Deskstar 75GXP 46.11gb harddrive.

      We frequently change controller cards on old
6gb quantum drives that go titsup.com, but only to get the data off, not as
a permanent solution.
       
      I'd imagine this would also affect you
warrenty.......

      To be honest it will not be cost effective
to repair unless there is critical data on it. By cost effective I mean
lots of money vs. seventy quid for a new one. No doubt you have a backup?

      If you are planning to buy a drive and swap
the boards to recover it I wish you the best of luck. This is not something
