To be
honest it will not be cost effective to repair unless there is critical
data on
it. By cost effective I mean lots of money vs. seventy quid for a new one.
No
doubt you have a backup? ;-)
If you
are planning to buy a drive and swap the boards to recover it I wish you
the
best of luck. This is not something I would have a go
at.

Due to a defective case and lack of
brains on my part I have managed to
Rip 3 components
off the main board on my Deskstar 75GXP 46.11gb harddrive.
Can anyone of you
electronics boffins help out or anyone know of
someone selling
The
harddrive. It should be a
simple matter of just replacing the controller pcb
