Not bad, but it would be easier wit more powerful ones (10Cd ones you mentioned).

Is there anyone supplying them in a form that can be easily used for home (with transformer, casing etc.)

To get equivelant brightness to a 40W bulb, you would need about 35
Candelas.

The bulk buy idea died a death when it became clear that the LEDS on sale
were pretty much vapourware.

I still haven't found a good cheap supplier of the really high brightness
(10Cd) ones.. :(
