Most
cars I've seen use ultrasonic occupancy sensors. You can buy these for
house
alarms too (my garage has one). However, I'm not sure they will be any more
useful than a conventional PIR for occupancy detection, since like PIRs,
they
only detect movement.

I was sitting in my car the other
night
and happened to notice the alarm's internal occupancy sensors. Could
these
be butchered to work in a house or do these just operate on the same
principles (and therefore as successfully or otherwise :-S) as regular
alarm PIRs ??
Just a thought.
