Cat5 works perfectly well, I'd only normally use fibre to get over
distance limitations or to go outside to another building. Basically u
would need additional active equipment to drive/convert the fibre and
since this list is mainly orientated around installing things the
DIY/cost effective way I doubt others would be interested in following
it through once they see the cost involved.
