RE: Another question from Gary

Just thinking out loud, how about using a home-brew or a proper toslink type of device ??? – but perhaps then you’d need to run a few fibers together ?… I have some fiber / utp converters here … I wonder if they could be ‘cloned’ ?

Or is that extra work to go say: DEVICE/kat5 – cat5 – converter – fiber – converter – cat5 –DEVICE/KAT5 ????!!!

Just my thoughts.

Jonathan.

Subject: [ukha_d] Another question from Gary

Has anyone thought of using Fibre Optic cable to link home
automation, as it is very thin 2mm? It could even be run in the gaps
of skirting boards etc?

There would be a lot of design to do,and i havnnt thought how it
would be done, but just thought i wouls ask?

Gary
