Paul,

I use Vizzavi (www.vizzavi.co.uk). Although it will only send the subject line
of an email, that is enough for the info I need to send. I have found it to be
both quick & reliable. The best bit though is, it's free!

For a less Mickey Mouse approach, this might be worth a look:

My 'plan' though is to hook up an old Nokia I have lying around with a PAYG
SIM. IIRC the Nokia software I have has an API. This would be particularly good
as it could be used both ways. SMS -> old phone ->HS "[secret code] Is the
alarm armed?", HS -> old phone -> SMS "Alarm armed at 7:34am"

I can feel another plugin coming on :-)
