RE: Meteor

Tried it last night and it worked - in that the call was logged, though
seemed to be logged each time the phone rang which I thought was a bit
odd....
Tried to set up an event based on the meteor event count changing to say
"Phone ringing" and...nowt.
Had to give up though when SWMBO wonder who the bloody hell was ringing at
11:30 @ night - several times :-(
Will get back to it at w/e though. It seems to work okay.
Next stage will be:
How do I 'trap' the ringing to extract the phone no and is there something
out there I can use to look up names either in outlook or (sigh) in yet
another separate address book?
Stage after that is getting Homeseer to push the info out a socket to be
treceived by a listener on my TiVo.
I don't think VBA can talk TCP can it - has someone written something
already to do this kinda thing? Can HS do it natively?
I could write a separate .Net app or something to just sit and wait for
calls and push the info out, but I think it would be nice to integrate with
HS as I might want to do other things when the phone rings too.....

I d/lded 1.6 last night. Was playing around with the settings looking for
a
nice voice to use and it got a bit stuck - I couldn't close the tabbed
dialog and wasn't getting any errors or anything, so had to kill the
process
in the end :(

Me too, but one thing at a time....
No HSP though so Patricks looks like it'll be of more use to me -
especially
with the remote option.....
cheers,
Tony
