Some discussion has already taken place regarding SNAP, and the general feeling is that gateway will be produced.

I'm looking at this and currently Atmel looks like a strong contender with =
it's range of AVR chips that can be interfaced to a ethernet driver, code <= BR> and documentation already exists. I'm currently talking to the UK
suppliers about AtMel chips, and we are trying to track down RealTek chips =
at a reasonable cost, it's ok if we want 660 ethernet driver chips, cost is then about =A34 a chip, but this rises steeply for any smaller quantity.=
