LM/AM in parallel with existing switch

Chaps,

I've nearly finished re-wiring my kitchen lights (24 LV Halogen & 2
Incandescent) with Lamp and Appliance modules modified A-La  Stuart Whyte of
Future Flat style.  I've still to get the touch switches built that will hook
into my disassembled mini-timer to switch these modules hence my question.

Can anyone see any problem with paralleling the existing light switches with the
switched live on the modules.  I'm not worred so much about the AM's because
these are just a relay but I am concerned about the LM's as having pulled one of
these apart, they have a coil inside which is used as part of the dimming
mechanism.  Would feeding current to switched live when the module is turned off
have a detrimental effect ?

The more I think about this the more I think it may be a bad idea but has anyone
tried this before I go and toast a couple of modules.

As an side, the electronic transformers I got recently from screwfix work a
treat with my LV Halogens.  Oddly enough I have other electronic transformers
acquired about 2 years ago from screwfix which seem to cause so much noise as to
drown out X10 commands.
