I bought the Pioneer DVR-A04 recently following the list's advice (well
Jason mainly). I have absolutely no complaints about it other than it's now
cheaper than when I bought it.
I've only used it for data backup so far - need to get around to testing it
for video DVDs, but all the reports claim it is as good as you can get.
Data
backup is fantastic BTW - certain backup software will treat it exactly
like
a tape drive, which makes backing up >4.3GB of data an absolute cinch.

I know we've been here before, but does anyone have advice on the current
best-buy DVD writer? I mainly want it to turn my DV Camcorder movies into
DVDs for the family, but obviously I would use it for data backups etc too.
Thanks
M.
