Yeah but the current ipaqs can do that with the compactflash card :)

Don't be too surprised if the next family of Ipaq's from HP and also
new mobile mobile phone models include the functionality and software
to use them as a pronto out of the box.

The capability to do IrRC and IrDA with the same module (hence save
space cost etc) will be available within the next few months and
should appear in products in time for the holiday season according to
my crystal ball!
