Aaah, sorry.  I quite liked the look of Gnome but managed to screw it some way.  
Using KDE now, but have another user where I ocassionally mess around with
Gnome.  I think there are some improvements in performance with KDE shipped
with Mdk 8.1 and 8.2 over what I use.  Given choice I'd probably go with Gnome
but for the way I use the system there is little diff, so little its not worth the
time to sort out Gnome. fyi went to Opera as browser, and like it .. real fast.

Yeah Robin..I've seen that on the Tutorials section of Mandrake site. I will
try both but was just looking for opinions as to which was considered best
by the Linux brigade :)
