Hi Steve
I have used these chips before and if driving a relay
board
for instance which is is in close wiring proximity i wouldnt bother with
diodes
, dont recall having any problems ,as Keith says just make sure the relays
are
supplied by the same source as the chip. If i was connecting to remote
relays or
solenoids i would put diodes across the relay or
solenoid.
