You
MUST remember to connect the positive Relay supply to the Common terminal
for
the ULN2803. Once you do that there is no difference to having external
diodes.
You
can also connect external diodes if you wish although the internal ones
should
be ample for any normal relay. Thats what the chip is designed
for.....relay and
solenoid driving!
