heya Kenneth, glad to see you're willing to give linux a go ... but approach it with an open mind ... not even windows is that easy to use the first
few times you use it.

I agree with Stuart, go to http://www.linuxiso.org for the download if someone isn't sending you cdrs.

Ok, I've already read the responses you've had as to which distro to use ... but as usual, I don't agree :-)

For straight firewall use, go with IPCOP [not smoothwall, for oh so many reasons].

For firewall and general server use, maybe look at March SME server v5 [used to be e-smith], but you really need a permanent connection for
that as it doesn't handle manual dialups very well.

For a generic distro that you can use for all of the above, I would *not* recommend Red Hat Linux to a newbie. It really isn't that friendly, but a
distro such as Mandrake v8.2 is. It's absolutely ideal to get you started. Relatively easy install, combined with firewall rules, routing, dial-up or
permanent connection use, lots of apps and just generally good for the *noddy* user ;-)

If you're interested in any of the above ... I can send you ipcop, mdk8.2 or march sme v5 on cdr. Whatever you choose, good luck and
remember .... IT'S FUN!!!!! :-D
