RE: [OT] Calling The Penguin People

I've found Debian to be very good for use on the servers etc. but currently=
use SUSE on the laptop.  SUSE seems to be configured very nicely for l= aptops
and has relatively recent packages.  The installer and set-up menus ar= e very
good, plus you can easily set-up the personal firewall to stop all incoming=
net connections.  Although you pay =A360 for the professional edition<= BR> (www.linuxemporium.co.uk also do cheap CDs of other distributions) you get<= BR> some excellent printed documentation along with the 7 CDs and 1 DVD.

Okay chaps since I slag Linux rather a lot I've decided to put my money
where my mouth is!

What I intend doing is setting up, as an experiment for the moment to
find out what the penguin is all about, an old P2 box with Linux to use
as a server/firewall/internet gateway.

So where do I download Linux from since I know they give it away? ;-)

What pitfalls are there to doing this and has anyone plugged a box
straight into a HH box via ISDN?

Can I interface this to a Windows XP LAN/WLAN and if so how?

I'm not saying you lot have won, just that I'm prepared to try something different!

K.
