Any advice on which wiring convention to use for RJ45. I guess I
should choose between T568A and T568B and the stick to it. I also
assume I just need straigh through cable from hub to wall socket. So,
is there any equipment I'm likely to come across that requires a
particular wiring standard? I'd like to get it right from the start.
At the moment I'm going straight from wall socket to hub with no
patch panel. If I include a patch panel later what impact will that
have on my choice of wiring convention?

There's a handy guide to wiring at
http://hepunx.rl.ac.uk/ppncg/utpguide/page18.html#APPENDIX_F in case
you hadn't sen it.

TIA

Stuart C.
