IME the quality difference between Sky and Cable (both NTL and Telewest
digital) video
is so vast that you would be *much* better with the Sky service.

Even with the nasty over compression of rattling too many channels down one
multiplex,
Sky is simply much better..

My business experience (our company supplies firewalls, servers etc)
suggests that our BT/ADSL
customers have many less connection problems than our NTL cablemodem
customers.

Your mileage may vary of course.

Ian.

Why are decisions never easy?  I thought I'd go over to ADSL when i move, as
they don't cut you off for running a web server (yes, it's happened to
friends on BlueYonder).  Unfortunately, I need a BT line to do this (as I
just discovered).  This means two things - more expensive phone calls, and I
can't have cable TV.  Whaddya reckon?  Should I run the risk of them cutting
me off
(and only 128kbps upload speed vs 256kbps), or cut my losses for cable TV,
and go for (more expensive) Sky Digital?  Opinions?  TIA

Andy (annoyed)
