Andy,
The simplest way around this is to run your servers on non standard,
high ports http on port 5060 for example, you can always use a
freebie website to do a redirect if you want. Don't set up a site
that has 1000's of people hitting on it (MP3 downloads etc). Cable
cos tend to scan ports but they usually stick below 1024 (I don't
think they even go that high). I actually run a mail server but only
collect all my mail (from various accounts) using it and, when I
send, to talk direct to the recipiants SMTP server.
If you select cable do not expect to be happily running servers on
standard ports. To be honest unless you want to run a public
webserver go for cable. You can quite happily run a webserver for
your HA stuff on a different port because (I'd guess) very few people
would be allowed access to it. Personally I use the services of Mr
Keay for my public website(s) - he's a top chap.. (shame he's ugly
tho ; )
