Playing around with my various wifi bits at the weekend, I was
discovered
the following:
ePods (Orinico Silver Wifi)- Can use Remote Desktop client, can use web
browser to connect to AudioTron web server, router web server, Internet
Fujitsu 510 (Orinico Silver Wifi) - CANNOT use Remote Desktop client,
can
use web browser to connect to AudioTron web server, router web server,
Internet
iPaq (Socket CF Wifi) - Can use Remote Desktop client, CANNOT use web
browser to connect to AudioTron web server, router web server Can use
web
broswer to connect to Internet.
Weird or what?
All devices go through a WAP11 AP and all are DHCP clients.
I tried the Fuji using both host name and ip address but no joy (cannot
find
machine or machine not set up for remote desktop - this is the same
machine
I connect to with the other two devices).
BUT I can network browse to it and access it's network shares - so the
host
name should work.
I can access internal web servers on the Atron etc, so LAN tcip/ip is
working.
I can access the internet to WAN tcp/ip is working......
Similarly, the iPaq 3850 - can access the pc on the network &
remote
desktop. Can access the internet, but cannot get to _any_ lan web
sites (am
using their IP addresses).
Bizzarre or what?
help?
Tony
