I
wouldnt do that.... I also recomended going to 230V as it is MUCH more
versatile.
Before
you know it there will be a couple of 6way plugboards screwed to the dash
and
all manner of things plugged in.
Could
even be SWMBO freindly.... imagine you are running late and she still needs
to
dry her hair, no problem, use the hairdryer in the car. (Better pick the
1000VA
model) www.bkelec.com

A
12V to 16V convertor is also effectively the same thing as an invertor and
because it is a bit non standard it is likely to be expensive - also
the
easy way of doing this does not provide enough current supply for the Fuji
-
so my recommendation would be to go for the 12V to 230V invertor solution
even
though it sounds like a round the houses solution - it will work out
cheaper
and also more useful in the long run as you will be able to power other
mains
standard devices should you so wish - you never know what is around the
corner
- one of those nice coiled individual cup heaters/kettles* might be just
what
you want next year - the one with the built in web interface
perhaps..
Kevin
*knowing you can get 12V versions before KD corrects
me....
Anyone know if there are DC
voltage step-up device, I know step-down's exist. The reason I ask is
I want to plug my Fuji straight into the Cigarette Lighter in the car,
instead of buying an inverter, then plugging the AC/DC adaptor into
that.
Just seems a bit stupid to have to do the
following: 12vDC -> 230vAC ->
16vDC when surely you could just go:
12vDC -> 16vDC
Then again this is by no way a subject I claim to
know anything about!!!
Cheers Graham
