There seems to be a bit of a lag problem. I sent this hours ago.

Provided the Abit board has mounting holes on the board for it try the
Alpha PAL 8045 with a YS-tech fan, and Arctic Silver III thermal
interface compound. I run an XP1500 at 1900 speeds and the hottest it
gets is 50 degrees. It idles at around 42 degrees. I do have a decent
case which has four fans blowing air through it. The XP CPUs do run hot,
but with decent cooling you should be able to get the temp down to
around 40 degrees.

Tim.

Hi,

Just brought a Abit AT7 mobo and a XP1800+ cpu, along with 512MB DDR.
For some reason my cpu temp is at 50-60 degrees C.  Windows XP wont even
install at that temp, im using a cpu from novatech.

Has anybody used this cpu or could recommend something that works
nicely.

Kind Regards,
Chris Bond
