HSCSD is probably indeed a winner given the current state of
technology then. Browsing at 28.8 over GSM is reasonably ok. If you
have the option of optimising the content, it can be very workable at
a paltry 9k6 (Try browsing Yahoo! It's impressive just how good it
is). I'm not aware of a definitive list of HSCSD capable GSM
networks - if you find one, it'd be very useful to know! Vodafone UK
does not support HSCSD by the way (although Orange does).
That said, the GPRS sleeves & PC cards are generally HSCSD capable,
so you can have your cake and eat it.
