This all sounds very familiar - it's what I was doing a couple of weeks
ago
!
I've run all of my LV cable together - didn't bother separating out Cat5
/
speaker / alarm into separate bundles. In some places the mains wiring
does
come "close" but where this happens I've tried to attach the
mains to one
joist and the LV to the other so they're about 16 inches apart (my
joist
spacing). Like you I didn't really have much other option. In some
places
the LV and mains cross, I've tried to do this at 90 degrees, but
haven't
always been successful.
Not sure it really helps you at all, other than there is comfort in
numbers
:-)
Cheers,
Tim H.
P.S. Floors are up again in a couple of weeks when I complete the job
I'll
post some more pics then.

Lots of questions tonight!
Spent the whole of last week with my circular saw, carving up my
chipboard floors and have now laid about half of the 3Km of CAT5e,
several hundred meters of speaker wire, mic cable, alarm, CT100 etc.
I thought I'd better check my cable runs before I screw the floor
back down, so the question is - what distance should you really give
between CAT5e, 79 strand speaker wire, shielded mic (XLR - I know
this one should be OK), power (1mm lighting circuit and 2.5mm ring
main) and shielded 8 core alarm cable? I've been trying to keep 30cm
between the high and low voltage stuff but in places had no other
choice but to run them together for very short distances.
What can you really get away with? A bit late I guess but thought
I'd best check!
Ta,
Paul.
