Andy, I think it's the speed of the PC in responding..

This could, of course, be bollox, but it seemed to help me when I had similar issues (in my case with the TM12)

X-10 signals are detected very fast by the PC, such that if the action on receipt of a command is the issuing of other X-10 commands, it can begin transmitting straight away, whilst the original X-10 command is still being sent, which results in collisions, as both devices "chatter" at each other for a while.

My system is showing some reliability issues. It's not that things
don't happen, it's how long before they happen. For example, I have
a "go to bed" macro that turns all the lights off, leaving a couple on
for 30 mins.

Quite often I press the button on my Pronto and nothing happens.
I can wait 20 seconds - nothing. I end up pressing it again, and
again. Then all of a sudden it works, except that it had really worked
the first time but something had delayed it. I end up with those
couple of lights fading to off about 4 times causing a disco light
effect downstairs, just as you are falling off to sleep.

However, I also have some motion sensors that trigger a macro
that turns outside lights on (indirect) - this works fairly quickly
in most cases.

So, is it my PC? Is it a software issue with HomeSeer? Is there
something I can configure? Would an IR sensor on the PC rather
than the X10 all house code IR unit I'm using help? Would moving
to something like HomeVision help this at all? Or is it an inherent
issue with X10 that I need to live with?

Looking for inspiration and help before the other half discovers this...

Bov!
