I just used one power strip and cut the plug on the end so I can plug power strip into the UPS. That way I got 4 normal sockets.

HAve you got an IDC to a normal 3 pin main socket or something for the HH Nik?

I used APC 700VA for Home Highway (+ PC and other stuff)  for 2 years without problems.

APC UPS is the only brand whose drivers come with Win 2000, so I never really bothered installing Powerchute.

Bear in mind that serial cable connecting UPS and PC is not "normal" serial cable, so if it's not long enough, you'll have to think about some solution.
