No problem
Others on this group will hopefully pitch in here....... (IP addressing
is
not my forte!)
I use DHCP at home and let my Win2k box do the IP allocating....
You will be give a public facing IP address for the internet, when you
connect to your ISP.
(This will be assigned to your dial up adaptor in the network settings,
-
e.g. your modem)
You will need to set each of the machines on your network to "obtain
their
ip addresses automatically" and all should then work.

Thanks, that cleared up most questions.
Just one left - IP addresses. I think my win2k box does not have
one, but gets given one when I connect to the net. My fuji does not
have one. I would like to be able to network my office laptop and
SWMBO's without reconfiguring their network settings. Do I need DHCP
for this?
