I understand why Mark H has saw fit to take the action and I can see
that for Mark M it is a dilemma on how to or if to moderate posts.
Here's the problem, I am genuinely interested in what Mark (both) has
to
say and I was looking forward to messing about with the JR Receiver
software and I reckon it was extremely good of him to devote his time
and effort into sharing his knowledge. For someone and, I do mean
anyone, to start taking the rip out of the man for trying to help
others
is just plain stupid IMO.
So here goes the run for cover paragraph, whether anyone has a spelling
problem or a stupid, stupid grudge against a certain style of putting a
url in a mail is no reason whatsoever for carrying on like this. Mark
Harrison had the good grace to explain why he wrote a url in that
manner, the explanation was, to my mind, perfectly reasonable and in
fact educational at the same time. Personally I have no problem at all
in being able to read a url and insert it into my IE bar, then hit
return although it would seem that for some people that this is either
too much effort or a way antagonise people. In either case, IMO, the
behaviour surrounding this on the list has been unacceptable
particularly in light of this group's tolerance for virtually anything.
So now the person/people responsible for upsetting Mark has denied me
and others the possibility of reading some very interesting posts and I
would just like to offer a big sarcastic "thanks a lot" to those
idiots
that made this possible.
