Yes, it took me ages to sort out what you need to install/purchase to get it all working !!  On the positive side the voices are amazing, almost too realistic...........

  1. Make sure you have build 28 or higher of Homeseer installed.
  2. Download the SAPI 5 Runtime  engine (text to speech component only) from the homeseer website  ftp://ftp.homeseer.com/pub/SAPI5TTS.exe
  3. Purchase online the 'AT&T Natural voice text to speech Desktop edition' from AT&T at $50 http://www.naturalvoices.att.com/buy/tts_english.html
  4. Purchase online additional voices if you want (Definitely recommended) make sure you buy 16Khz ones. $49 per voice (same url as above)
  5. AT&T ship via DHL and it seems to take about 10 days to get to the UK

If you want to here the quality of the voices yourselves look at http://www.naturalvoices.att.com/demos/index.html

You do need to install of the software above, I thought I could just install the runtime and the extra voices but you can't. Once you have the software installation is completely straight forward.

Hope this helps

Mark

Is anyone using the Crystal AT&T voice with homeseer? If so how do you get
it or how do you get it working?

Tks
