All the activity on the group and the imminent arrival of my Fuji has now got me thinking the time has arrived to knock together some sort of server. I know rock all about running a server so bear with me. I'm thinking of using it for my mail so I can access it from any machine, probably to run Homeseer, which I like but don't use as no PC is on 24 x 7 and I would also like to store MP3's on it to play on the other PC's and maybe one day through my hi fi. These are sort of the things the group has been doing, but I haven't followed some of it. I have no idea about what spec pc I should use for the server though, I have an old P200 my daughter uses I could borrow or I could build a new one. Maybe using an AMD chip as the smallest pentium seems to be a PIII 1GHz these days. What sort of processor would you guys think I should go for, any advice greatly accepted.

Thanks,

Keith
