Yes, but I get now that there is not return path, so that's OK.

Nope, just USB & ethernet, and next week,  Firewire too.

The real problem is that although Thinking Home, which runs OK in OS9 and
can issue commands to the interface to switch stuff off & on, will not
download to the CM12 - it says something like "schedule not suitable for
download" - I'm suspecting that although the CM12 accepts commands, maybe it
isn't handshaking like it would need to do to download a schedule?
