Yes, and no..

Firstly, all your wireless remotes and the TM12 need to be on the same
housecode.

The modules are usually on the same housecode as the controllers,
(that's
how they work) but with the addition of the PC, and some suitably
defined
objects, you can have the modules all under PC control, and the
controllers
issuing commands to the PC.

I use a mix of these methods in my house, I suspect most people do.

One thing to be aware of: if you set the PC to act on a received X-10
command, and the action includes sending another X-10 command, you need
to
pause for a half second or so. because X-10 is massively redundant, the
PC
has recognised the command whilst the controller is still sending it, and
if
the PC starts sending too soon, a collision happens, and both
"talkers" can
end up just battering at each other..

As for the Mac, don't these infernal machines have an industry standard
RS232 interface? it *should* be as simple as getting a convertor from a
real
DB9 down to that mini-din nonsense, and you are off... (with suitable
OS-Bigot disdain ;) )

Hi All,

Until I get the mac bits working, I'm tiddling with a PC laptop &
activehome. I've got 5 AM12's, an LM12, a TM12 and the PC I/f. I have
an
SS13 wall switch and a KR22 keyring remote.  I've defined the modules
and
put them in on/off macros in Activehome, but commands from the remotes
don't
seem to be recognised by the interface and macros not executed.  Is
there
something obvious I'm missing? The remotes control the units individually
if
the modules are on A1-4,  but now I have the modules on B1-7 and the
remotes
are hard-coded to A1-3 and A1-4 I believe.  Does everything have to be
on
the same housecode?
