Guys,

I'm praying that one of you knows how to fix a problem I have.

I have 4 Compaq 5708TX Dual Speed Switches. 3 of them are setup and
configured as I want them.

Number 4 though is a different kettle of fish.

I set the switch up about 2 years ago for a company I use to work
for. Since they have now upgraded I bought the switches back from
them, but I cannot remember the password to access the switch, so I
cannot reset the snmp strings and ip address.

I have tried everything I can think of. I've had the lid off to see
if there was a battery protecting the memory, as I want to default
the switch to factory defaults which will then allow me in.

No jumpers on there either, except for switching between 5v and 12v
for the fans by the look of it.

No joy on Compaq's support site.

Anyone know a workaround ? Anyone have friends in Compaq (or a good
support agreement) who maybe able to help. I use to work at Dell, and
we had "engineer" passwords which allowed us backdoor access into
the
equipment. I'm wondering if these have one also.

Help Anybody.

Regards
Geraint
