So how would you know you had an alert on the
server if its tucked away at N... 0(sorry Phil)
I will have 3 other machines in the same
location
which will be networked but not used to access the internet, would these
also
have to be protected.
Would it be any easier to use a router rather
than
the server pc, if so where does the firewall go.

... but we used to get a downloaded updater at work which we just ran on
each
machine on the network rather than updating each machine across the
internet...
So if I want to update the virus definitions I
have to do this on each machine?

simple answer ... EVERY SINGLE MACHINE needs to be proteced
:-)
many people, including some here, will say you only need AV on
the interface servers [mail, routers etc] ... this provides no protection
whatsoever from many types of virus and transmission
types.

machine but what about Norton AV does it go on this one only or each PC
