Hi all,

A while ago I bought a Compaq Proliant 2500 Rack Mount Server, had it on
for
a while and then it just switched itself off, no warning just lost power.

I ignored it originally then it became a pain, I totally re-build it but
this achieved nothing.

After a lot of head scratching I bought a second-hand PSU and all was
well....until last night!
I had been ripping CD's all day so perhaps it was overworked!

This server was originally plugged into the mains till I was happy it was
fixed then I attached it to my UPS where it has been happy for a month or
maybe more.

I also had my old server plugged into the UPS for months with out any
problems but a few weeks ago when I moved the Compaq to the UPS, the old PC
went into the mains and a little while back it developed the same problem!

I removed this PSU and fitted it into another PC which has worked so far
(it
has not had much use) and fitted that PSU into my retired server so far
with
no problems!

Has any of you genius's got any ideas what could have caused this or could
it just be a coincidence?

Thanks,

B.
