Read the following just now.

Anyone seen / used them?

M-Systems has invented a really cool little storage device called DiskOnKeys. The device is thimble-sized -- well more

AA battery-sized -- and plugs into your USB port. Right now, the devices support up to 32MB but a 512MB is on the way.

What M-Systems did was put a little CPU in the case along with some other dense electronics. The device should be

thought of as another floppy in that your boot up will probably hang if you leave it plugged in. On the other hand,

you can save 32MB and tuck it away real easy.

We don't think this device will replace the Zip drive until they get the 1GB size ready, but it sure beats a stack of

floppies or all that Zip drive hardware.

Another interesting aspect of the DiskOnKeys is that it's plug and go. There's nothing to configure, no drivers, nada.

Easy back-ups for essential files, we'd say.

Dell and others are selling the devices for $50 -$100,  depending on size. The word that we got was that those

prices are padded with a hefty margin.

Look for DiskOnKeys to pop up in various shopping services in the near future.
