I use a linksys 4 port that hasn't given me any problems,
I think it cost about 80-90 quid. from buy.com (the uk one).

The cable sets can cost anything between 10 & 30 pound a set. I bought
a
couple of sets of belkin ones as they seemed the cheapest at the time.
