Case in point. I recently bought a new video and DVD. The video came
from an on-line store. A 5 year warrantly was as much again as the
video so I didn't bother. Some high street stores seem to do better,
which wipes out the on-line savings.
Our previous video died after 15 months and we didn't take extended
:-( Looking at 100 quid for new heads. We may pursue this as it was
obviously not built to last.
The DVD came from Richer Sounds who did a 3 year for 20 quid. Only
another 10 for 5 years, but I reckon our cheapie unit will be
redundant by then. Actually it's going back today after developing a
fault, but as it's within 30 days it should get replaced. They seem
to offer a good service as well as reasonable prices.
Which magazine seemed to think that in general the extendeds are a
waste of money, but the above seemed worth it to me.
Just by 2 groats
