I can't remember the url, but I do remember reading somewhere that the flash version of the upgrade will have a few features missing due to hardware incompatibilities.
 
Don't know what they are though.

I have read there will be a standard and advanced (something like that) version of Merlin, designed for 16 and 32 meg machines respectively.  Dunno if this means their RAM or ROM though?
 
Certainly does seem that flash upgradeable machines like iPAQ will be able to get the new OS.
