Password protect would be easy to do, if thats the consensus view.

A single well known id/password would be fine, as its only a 'spider
antitdote!  No spider on earth is bright enough to 'find' a password,
unless its been given it.  If a spider does (apparently) know the
password, then the intelligence and effort behind the spider (ie its
operator) is sufficient that he'd get the addresses from elsewhere
anyway...
