I am of course assuming that you are referring to the recent thread about
sticking an LCD panel on an overhead projector and using that as a
projection display...

....if you're thinking of just using an LCD screen as a rolling still
picture
then the same kinds of problems exist (i.e. you still need to drive it from
a laptop PCB) but the decoding speed is less of an issue.

The problem you then have is extending the signal leads to the screen as
there are loads of the suckers and they are fairly limited in their maximum
length ... for example I wanted at one point to mount the screen from my
VAIO PCG-C1F (1280 x 768 resolution widescreen format) in my sunvisor but
it
wasn't possible due to the distance it would have had to drive!
